Business development is NOT about writing a business plan. It is about developing a mind-set of continual planning and review and incorporating that into your daily business life. Business plan documents are doomed to failure because they run out of date immediately and we often can not implement the plans effectively. Those plans simply sit on the shelf and get dusty and that is a waste of time, effort and money.
In order to be successful and develop our business the way that we want we need to design the pathway, determine the action plan and IMPLEMENT the actions to achieve your business goals and ultimately your personal goals.
How do we do it?
Progressive sits with you helping you implement those strategies and actions to make sure they are completed. Through this each manager will develop better skills and knowledge and build their confidence and capability.
Your strategies will inevitably change as the business environment or situations change at your work therefore you will need to continually re-evaluate your strategies and tactics.
We are a cost-effective, skilled resource that continually keeps you on track and act as your trusted strategic advisor.
What is involved?
The Very First Step. Free Expert Mentoring Session
This is a free mentoring meeting which takes between 1 1/2 and 2 hours with one of our business specialists. The objective of the meeting is to identify areas in which you can improve and then make recommendations on a way forward using some of our services. Even if you do not wish to work with us you will get a number of fresh ideas on how tackle some of the issues you are facing. There is no fee for this meeting. The Second Step: The Business Review
- We meet with you over 1 ½ days to assess where you are gong with the business, the effectiveness of your business systems and management methods how well your people are performing.
- We put your business under the microscope with an intensive review of your sales and marketing processes, financial performance, management, operating and control systems which all affect your ability to achieve sustainable, optimum results.
- We survey your clients, key staff and key suppliers. We examine hundreds of issues in your business.
- You will develop a much clearer and deeper understanding of your business as a result. We will provide advice on how to go about improving your business and setting goals. We will make recommendations on a way forward using some of our services or programs.
- You will receive a detailed report which will become a catalyst for action
The third step : The Business Development and Implementation Program
- Together as a team, we look into the future with you and your key staff, define the vision and develop the pathway to achieving your goals. We help identify all the strategies, the infrastructure and systems that need to be developed by the business, to enable it to achieve its long term objectives. We then get stuck into making it happen!
- It is the implementation part that is always difficult. We can all plan, but trying to put our plans into place is where we all fail without the right support.
- We meet with you at least 8 times during the year in a formal planning and review sessions. Your strategies will evolve over time and need review. You will need to develop new strategies over time. It is our assistance in making it happen which helps ensure you make your plans come to reality.
- Implementation assistance is the element that ensures the success of the whole program and the ingredient that is often lacking from other consultancy services.
